Wow! What a surprise to welcome him 5 weeks earlier than expected! Ezekiel James arrived yesterday at 12:57 at a tiny 4 lbs 13 oz. I am working on a more detailed account of his birth, but for now I will just say that he is beautiful, amazing, strong, and PERFECT! He is in the NICU for at least a couple of days, but doing very well despite his early arrival. He cried immediately (oh, how happy and relieved I was to hear that cry!) and is able to breathe on his own. They do have him on oxygen, but they said that he was keeping his oxygen levels up on his own and the oxygen is just to make it a little easier on him so he doesn’t have to work so hard. And he was able to take some breastmilk from a bottle last night! I would much rather be nursing him, but at least I know he is getting it somehow. I am bored out of my mind waiting to go see him (he can’t have visitors from 6-8:00 due to shift change) but so, so grateful that he is doing so well! Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes over the past few months- they have meant so much to us!
