I know I haven’t been keeping up with this blog very well. And I have really let the ball drop with P365 as well, (although I am not giving up on it just because I have missed a few days!) but I have a good excuse. really:)
I mean, look at this kid. Wouldn’t you rather be outside playing with him? Or inside reading him a story? Or cuddled up on the couch taking an afternoon nap with him? Me too 🙂 So sometimes other things get pushed to the back burner for a while.
At 14 months, Munchkin is so much fun! He’s still a pretty laid back kid, most of the time, but he has become much more social over the last two months or so. I was actually starting to worry about his social development a bit at one point because he would completely zone out anytime we left the house, and wouldn’t interact with other children at all, but he is doing SO much better now! He LOVES to be outside, and adores animals. We took him to the zoo for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and he was hilarious to watch. He insisted on making sure that EVERY goat and sheep in the petting zoo got a hug! He’s really into hugs right now (which mama loves, of course). He’s also pretty good with the cats, and we are very fortunate that they (especially Millicent) are so good with him to. I have never seen a cat that will tolerate being wallowed the way Millie will!
He ran to give her a hug the other day while she was snoozing on the windowsill, and he pushed her clean out the window, screen and all. Poor Millie! Thank goodness our windows are only a foot or so off the ground.
He’s almost as fascinated with the chickens as they are with him.
He’s learning so much every day and has some of the most amazing hand-eye coordination I’ve ever seen in a kid his age. He’s a whiz at stacking his blocks, can easily turn the pages of a book without wrinkling or tearing them, can correctly hold and scribble with a crayon or pencil, and can put one of those teeny little straws in a juice box like it is nothing (I have trouble with that sometimes!) He still loves to jabber and has added a few new words to his vocabulary. Oh, and he’s finally starting to grow in some hair!
Life is good, and it just keeps getting better every day:)
